RB Merchant is proud to have partnered with Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital (SKPCH) to bring cutting-edge cancer treatment technology to the western region of Nepal. Located in Khajura, Banke, SKPCH is poised to become a comprehensive government cancer hospital in the region, serving a population of over 10 million people.
RB Merchant supplied the Saginova HDR afterloader for the hospital’s brachytherapy applications, providing an advanced, efficient and reliable solution to cancer treatment. The Co-60 sources used in the Saginova machine are especially suited for Nepal’s unique geographic and economic conditions, as they have low dependence on electricity and can be easily transported to a landlocked country like Nepal.
Co-60 sources are ideal for use in remote areas with limited resources, and in developing nations where access to advanced medical equipment is limited. The logistical ease of Co-60 sources means that they can be used in a wider range of healthcare facilities, and their lower cost makes cancer treatment more accessible to more people.
SKPCH is a shining example of how advanced medical technology can be used to improve healthcare outcomes in developing nations. By partnering with RB Merchant, SKPCH has access to the latest cancer treatment technology, ensuring that patients in the western region of Nepal receive world-class medical care.
At RB Merchant, we are committed to bringing the best medical equipment to Nepal, and supporting the healthcare industry in the country. Our partnership with SKPCH is just one example of how we are making a difference in people’s lives, and we will continue to support the medical community in Nepal to provide equitable healthcare for all.
